The first Battle of the Wines was held in France in 1224 and the concept was revived for Australian television in 2018, with the clear intention it would go global. Good things take time!
The new edition was designed to give a media platform to wine experts and profile the passionate wine makers through a fair and open competition that, crucially, is entertaining. Initially launched in Australia as “Battle of the Vines” – the format, as always planned, is now in full international flight as “Battle of the Wines”.
