Be an Ally Foundation

Be an Ally Foundation, established in 2021 in Cyprus, is an award-winning organization dedicated to advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion. As a proactive social catalyst, we are reshaping the conversation around equality and inclusion by implementing targeted initiatives that foster inclusive practices. Our efforts are directed towards engaging civil society as well as public and private organizations to create a more equitable environment. Over the past five years, our foundation has built a strong reputation for impactful action and advocacy in promoting inclusivity across various sectors. This experience has equipped us with the insights and expertise necessary to tackle the complex challenges related to equality and inclusion effectively. Our work includes two primary initiatives focused on gender equality: “Θκυο Λογια για την Ισοτητα / A Few Words for Equality” is Cyprus's first national digital campaign aimed at raising awareness about gender issues. The campaign and published books series aim to educate the public, particularly the youth, on gender equality, encouraging them to actively participate in creating a more inclusive society through their daily actions. With more than 500,000+ engagement, the campaign received the NGO CSW65 2021 Young Feminist Award as one of the top 20 initiatives out of more than 900 globally committed to gender equality. The Girls in STEAM Academy addresses the underrepresentation of women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. This initiative offers specialized training programs and educational opportunities for teenage girls aged 14-18 and adult professionals. Our goal is to empower participants by providing them with the tools and knowledge to excel in STEAM careers, thereby contributing to closing the gender gap in these areas both in Cyprus and internationally.
