We are known as the founders of The Hogeweyk®. It was our first attempt at a complete de-institutionalisation of the traditional nursing home model. Not an institution, but a place where you can live your life as ordinary as possible. It sounds easy, but doing this sort of thing in healthcare is pretty complicated. How do you go from intention to doing?
Enabling people with dementia to live longer at home also requires a radically different view in which the focus is not on the disease but on the individual with all his individuality and his own interpretation of life. Be@Home is an integral care concept for people with dementia at home based on a holistic and social approach.
How to implement and secure this approach effectively and with great qualitative outcomes? With years of experience in the creation and implementation of home care teams, Anneke Kooij and Romy Brugman, both consultants for Be Advice since 2023, will immerse you in all the elements of this care concept and the vision that forms the foundation for its success.
The Be Advice team is creating a global movement with a radically different perspective on care, living and wellbeing for people living with dementia. We advise on and support the creation and implementation of innovative care concepts for elderly people with dementia all over the world.
