Founded by Kevin Hershock, Be A Number is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development and community empowerment in Uganda. Partnering with local organizations like Youth Development Organization - Uganda, Be A Number is deeply invested in projects that are not only vital for community growth but also embraced and sustained by the communities they serve. Be A Number focuses on four main areas: 1. **Vocational Training:** Operating training centers that empower young women through practical skills in sewing and hairdressing, moving them from training to production, and helping them become self-sufficient. 2. **Educational Outreach:** Collaborating with local schools to provide scholarships and planning to build a school offering elementary education and English lessons taught by international teachers. 3. **Healthcare Development:** Managing a community health fund with plans to establish a health center, improving access to medical care. 4. **Sustainable Infrastructure:** Implementing projects such as water systems, renewable energy (solar power), and road construction to enhance the quality of life and economic potential of the communities.
