BEBESEA

BEBESEA stands for Better Engagement Between East and Southeast Asia. We work to become a safe platform for mobilising and building intersectional solidarity cross-regionally in East and Southeast Asia. Our initiative started in 2018, focusing on human rights issues that intersect with migration and displacement in/from East and Southeast Asia. BEBESEA network consists of civil society actors including NGOs, grass-roots organisations, activists, academics as well as allies in both public and private sectors. Till today, we have conducted many policy dialogues, workshops, training and research activities, joint campaign and advocacy with the communities, youths, scholars, human rights and migrant rights advocates. With our commitment to meaningful participation, enhancement of civil society’s capacity, safety and well-being, and multi-stakeholder engagement for structural changes, we learn from and work with members of grass-roots civil society to influence regional and international policy-making processes.
