Bender Academic Tutoring

Michael Bender has been teaching and designing after school enrichment curriculum for Study Concepts Inc. in Ashburn and Chantilly for 7 years, and teaching second generation Korean students in McLean and Centreville for 3 years. He has taught English at Berlitz Language Schools, Global LT and Language Trainers, Study Concepts Inc., Korean English Summer Camp. He has studied foreign languages at the Foreign Service Institute, Diplomatic Language School and Berlitz Language Schools in Washington, D.C., Vienna, Virginia and Munich, Germany. He successfully passed the Virginia Competency and Literacy Assessment (VCLA for teachers) and PRAXIS I in 2009. Over the past several years, through Language of Success, Michael has successfully developed curriculum and coached professionals and students who have made outstanding multidisciplinary achievements from 2nd grade through adult at all learning levels. Michael has a B.A. in Political Science from American University, an Executive Masters in General Administration from the University of Maryland, a Certificate in International Law (First Degree with Distinction) from the City of London College and attended a graduate program at the University of Virginia for teaching ESL to Adults along with courses in Northern Virginia Community College's ESL Teaching Program. In addition to education, Michael Bender has been engaged in international business and cultural activities for more than 30 years in the private and public sectors. He was CEO of Artek Systems Corporation and Imaging Products International, Inc. and held various senior executive positions in the United States in the high technology sector with Dynatech Corporation and also served as President of a U.S. subsidiary of a European IT Management and Consulting firm. He was Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Al-Bader Group in Kuwait for 6 years, Consulting Director of International Business Development (for consumer products) and served as a Foreign Service Officer in U.S. Embassies in the Middle East and Africa, receiving the Bronze Medal for Superior Federal Service as the year's Most Oustanding Federal Employee for Superior Service along with other awards and commendations.
