Bilihome's idea originated from a thoughtful dad, who was separated from his son after a stressful birth and could not bring his wife with the twins home as planned. The reason was a prolonged hospital stay , because the baby boy developed jaundice, which required phototherapy in the NICU. Rick's persistence to show the possibility of doing things different kicked of the project of a wearable phototherapy device for home use. Bilihome B.V. was born in 2019 and is featured by NLC – The European Healthtech Venture Builder in Amsterdam. The goal of Bilihome is to change the way of thinking about the medical care of newborn lives and their families.
