Bioaction is an EU-funded project creating a new implant technology using specialised bio-hydrogels to turn biofilm-associated infections, the leading cause of implant failures, into a beneficial resource.
Our aims:
• Transform bacteria to produce specific healing molecules for tissue regeneration.
• Develop patient-friendly biodegradable gels that are as least invasive as possible.
• Establishing our technology for dental and orthopaedic implants.
We want to provide a revolutionary and patient-friendly alternative to traditional antibiotic therapies, which often exacerbate the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance.
The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe EIC Pathfinder programme under grant agreement number 101098972.
