Bioaction EU

Bioaction is an EU-funded project creating a new implant technology using specialised bio-hydrogels to turn biofilm-associated infections, the leading cause of implant failures, into a beneficial resource. Our aims: • Transform bacteria to produce specific healing molecules for tissue regeneration. • Develop patient-friendly biodegradable gels that are as least invasive as possible. • Establishing our technology for dental and orthopaedic implants. We want to provide a revolutionary and patient-friendly alternative to traditional antibiotic therapies, which often exacerbate the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance.
