The Division of Biomedical Engineering at Uppsala University is part of the Department of Materials Science, focusing on basic mechanisms for the development and evaluation of new materials in interaction with biological systems.
Our mission is to foster a dynamic teaching and research environment that is internationally recognized for its excellence in connecting basic research with clinical application.
The Division is comprised of two research groups:
BioMaterial Systems group led by Prof. Cecilia Persson
Enabling Microtechnologies for Biomedical and Life science Applications group led by Prof. Maria Tenje
