Biometric Ventures is a venture capital company based in Prague focused on early-stage startups in the field of biometrics or using biometric functionalities. The company was established in 2020 as an internal innovation platform of Innovatrics, a global leader in biometric technology. Our investment approach is a combination of pre-seed financial investment, mentoring, and access to unique biometric technologies of our parent company Innovatrics. Biometric technologies developed by Innovatrics that can be used in our projects consist of: 1) Fingerprint Technology => fingerprint recognition is the process of the verification of a person’s identity by comparing their fingerprints with previously recorded samples. 2) Facial Recognition Technology => facial recognition is a technology capable of matching a human face from a digital image or a video frame against a database of faces to confirm an individual’s identity. 3) Iris Recognition Technology => Iris recognition is an automated method of biometric identification, taking unique patterns within a ring-shaped region surrounding the pupil of each eye. The first two projects developed under the management of BV are Ageware ("AW") and Elderly Monitoring Systems ("EMS"). Ageware is an age verification software based on state-of-the-art facial recognition designed to prevent underage access to potentially harmful online content. EMS is an automated monitoring system that can be used at home or installed in nursing houses as support infrastructure helping to prevent and instantly notify in the case of an accident or life-threaten We closely cooperate with our parent company Innovatrics which is a top-rated independent provider of trusted biometric solutions for governments and enterprises. Their unique algorithms consistently rank among the fastest and most accurate fingerprint and face recognition categories. Their products are being used in more than 80 countries, benefiting more than a billion people worldwide.
