Who we are: BioRiver works for the life sciences industry in the German Rhineland region. Founded in 2004 the BioRiver association is an independent and industry driven organisation. The river Rhine gave its name to BioRiver, the cities of Cologne and Düsseldorf are the centers and the economic hubs of the BioRiver region. The universities of Aken, Bonn, Cologne and Düsseldorf have been origin for countless biotech spin-offs. The industry giants Qiagen and Miltenyi Biotec are among these academic spin-offs, too. Both organisation are strongly committed to BioRiver by their engagement in the executive board.
What we do: We bring life science companies, from start-ups to global market leaders, together with science, capital and shareholders. We focus on the needs of the industry. Our projects successfully strengthen the business development of start-ups, the visibility of innovations, the translation of science into the market and the network between all partners. We are an active part of the life sciences ecosystem in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Driven by successful entrepreneurs and managers, BioRiver is committed to political decisions that unleash biotechnology as a future technology in the Rhineland and beyond.
