BopCo provides on demand identification services of organisms of policy concern, using morphology and DNA-based methods. These organisms include invasive alien species, pests, disease vectors, CITES-protected species, etc. We also provide kinship analyses for various parrots, birds of prey, and tortoises.
BopCo is jointly run by the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (Brussels, Belgium) and the Royal Museum for Central Africa (Tervuren, Belgium), and is funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office (Belspo).
