About Behavioral Public Administration Lab - Gedragsbestuurskunde Lab

Public administration requires a science-based understanding of human behavior. The Behavioral Public Administration Lab Leiden conducts behavioral science to generate, share, and apply insights about human behavior to improve governance, policy, and management in the public sector. We focus on three domains: 1: Evidence-informed decision-making: Behavioral insights to improve how political and managerial decision-makers allocate attention and make use evidence. 2: Encounters between residents and the state: Behavioral insights to enhance residents' opportunities, experiences, and outcomes in policy implementation and public service delivery. 3: Composition of the public workforce: Behavioral insights to attract and retain the human capital required for a responsive and effective functioning of the public sector.
