WHAT WE DO: Bryansquad.com was created by two female entrepreneurs on opposite sides of the globe: Barb OBrien and Raihana Akter. Bryansquad.com provides services such as Web Development, Web Design, Online Personal Assistants, Small Business Consultation, and Call Center Operations. We are a Minnesota-based company with a global focus, and our staff is located in the U.S., Finland, and Bangladesh. Our target client is generally a small business, cottage industry, or startup. We also offer consultation services, as we have found that our clients who are new to business prefer extra guidance and direction in their quest for self-employment and personal autonomy. What makes a just a little different from other Virtual Assistant firms (aside from being a female-owned business), is our commitment to creating jobs that empower women and families in impoverished areas, where small business lending is either out of reach or available only from predatory moneylenders. Five percent of our revenue at Bryansquad.com is allocated to zero-interest microcredit. Examples of capitalization for these startup businesses include hand-crank sewing machines, cloth, bicycles, tools, equipment, livestock, commercial cooking implements, first month's rent on a shop or stall, and other inventory. Studies over the past 35 years have consistently shown that microcredit extended to women improves the family’s socioeconomic outcome in the long-term and that women demonstrate a tendency toward spending it exclusively for the family’s benefit, thus helping reduce the cycle of poverty.
