BUHURT is a Combat Sports Promotion and Entertainment company bringing Medieval Knights back to life. Buhurt is a German word for Knight tournaments in Medieval age. These tournaments contained a melee consisting of knights fighting one another on foot with blunt weapons and full armor Modern Buhurt originated in Europe around 2009 and spread to the USA in 2011 mainly drawing people from SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), Various Martial artists, Veterans, and active-duty personnel. The USA currently has around 40 independent clubs and a tight-knit community of 15000 modern-day Medieval knights spread across around 23 states in the USA and these Knights are actively participating in independent leagues and paid events across the country.
