Buxton Associates are a group of enthusiastic and creative civil and structural engineers committed to providing elegant and economic design solutions. Our diverse and innovative portfolio of work includes buildings for education, housing, retail, leisure, bridges, arts, commercial developments and sculptures. We have worked throughout the UK and internationally for a broad base of clients. Our professional service is based upon the principle of designing structures appropriate to the architectural intent coupled with a thorough understanding of the construction process. We like to work very closely with the other design team members from an early stage on a project as this allows us to produce a fully co-ordinated and integrated design. This proactive approach leads to an improved and enhanced product on site and adds value by reducing costs and making the building process more efficient. Each project is led by a Director and this personal engagement ensures that we are responsive to client and design team instruction and aspiration. This involvement continues throughout the lifetime of the project and beyond. We are committed to providing sustainable solutions in our engineering and concentrate on the areas of design and construction where we have an influence. We aim to provide lean structures, we design for future adaptation and we specify the appropriate materials for the structural elements.
