Study Canada Applied Behaviour Analysis (CABA) is a Canadian online study prep program for individuals applying to sit for the Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) exam. The program is led by three Board Certified Behaviour Analysts who have a passion for helping others lead a valued-action lifestyle that supports applicants in getting through this overwhelming process and succeed in their goals.
Our mission is to build a community that is focused on learning, mentorship, and personal development in an accessible way. At CABA, we strive to motivate and support future Behaviour Analysts through the challenging exam process so that they can achieve their goals of passing the exam and getting those letters!
The three of us met while working together at an educational centre for children with Autism and other pervasive developmental disorders in Ottawa, Canada. While out on a patio one Friday night in August 2020, ideas about creating a study prep program started flowing and we quickly realized that these ideas needed to be put into action. Enter CABA Study!
Over the last year, a large part of our professional practice has incorporated elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through trainings, readings, and supervision meetings with mentors, we learned about the importance of staying in the present moment and how this can affect day to day life in a meaningful way. ACT focuses on identifying one’s own values and promotes leading a valued-action lifestyle. When you commit to acting in line with your values, it helps lead you to your goals. We began incorporating ACT into our personal lives and felt it was an important part of how we wanted to run our study prep program. Our vision for CABA is to help our students identify their individual values to support their study process, reminding them why they are pursuing this credential!
