Open 7 days a week and offering lunch daily and brunch on Sunday in a comfortable and casual dining room or al fresco on the patio during summer months. Featuring locally sourced meat, seafood and produce. Not because it ‘s trendy, but because it’s the best quality and our vendors are friends and neighbors. From his early days growing up racing motorcycles in the coal-country of Pennsylvania, right up until today, Chef Kerry Altiero, has decidedly done things his own way. In 1993, Chef Altiero decided to open a restaurant that is fueled by his passion for great food, multi-culture cuisines, his Italian heritage and Rockland, Maine. He renovated the historic Owl Benevolent and Fraternal Club at 15 Oak Street in the heart of downtown Rockland, Maine and the result is the edgy and eclectic Café Miranda. Café Miranda has long been a model of sustainability and has been recognized as an Environmental Leader by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection. Vegetables come from Chef Altiero’s own Headacre Farm as well as many other area farms while meats and seafood are sourced throughout the region. Chef Altiero has been named Maine Chef of the Year from Down East Magazine, Maine Lobster Council Lobster Chef of the Year; Cafe Miranda has won Harvest on the Harbor Top of the Crop – Best Farm To Table Restaurant. Additionally, Chef Altiero has written the cookbook 'Adventures in Comfort Food'. Chef Kerry is also the co-host of NOSH, a VSTV food and cooking show.
