CAIDERA - Central African Infectious Disease and Epidemics Research Alliance

The Central African Infectious Disease and Epidemics Research Alliance (CAIDERA) structures, conducts and delivers a tailored multi-format training and research programme on emerging and re-emerging viral, bacterial and parasitic infectious diseases, centred on the one health concept, and with the aim to foster research capacity and collaboration in the predominantly francophone Central African region. The leading CAIDERA members are the University of Tübingen, the Centre de Recherches Médicale de Lambaréné (CERMEL) and the Pasteur Institute/Institut Pasteur International Network. The main pillar of CAIDERA is the Master's program on Infection Biology and Control (IBC). Other pillars include an interdisciplinary sandwich PhD program and the organisation of massive online open courses (MOOCs).
