We are an alumni network of the Dialogue on Innovative Strategies in Higher Education, Management of Internationalization (DIES MoI) program, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which brings together members from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Founded in March 2021, we have more than 50 members representing all generations since 2014 of DIES MoI LATAM. The network is the result of the union of wills and visions among alumni of the program, who have made alliances, strategies, and joint projects. Since its inception, CALCA has experienced organic and professional growth, connecting its active members, internationalization managers, throughout 13 countries in the region. The network generates synergies among professionals and with their institutions, strengthening internationalization in higher education with a Latin American approach and a vision of global cooperation: we operate from Latin America and the Caribbean, maintaining ties with Germany, integrating other countries.
Our mission is to promote the internationalization of higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean, innovating through the exchange of knowledge and experience capital on a human scale, strengthening cooperation and professional development among alumni and contributing to the generation of academic projects for the benefit of the region.
Our objectives include:
• Promoting the internationalization of higher education with regional relevance.
• Promoting the transfer of knowledge and best practices
• Strengthening institutional capacities in internationalization
• Consolidating a professional network of internationalization managers.
• Promoting collaboration and research on internationalization issues.
• Developing specialized projects and working groups
