Calliope Bio is a synthetic biology startup launched at Yale University through the Nucleate Activator program. We're using novel biosynthetic gene cluster mining tools to rapidly select for new and better natural products, ranging from drugs to biomaterials. Our early development has focused on mining the human microbiota to identify metabolites for binding with neurological GPCR receptors, particularly those that hold promise for de-orphanizing oGPCR receptors.
