Calma Koala™ came about when Sister in law duo Sue (a renowned Sydney midwife and mothercraft nurse) and Jennie (Business Owner) wanted to create a uniquely Australian toy. After the devastating 2020 bush fires which saw the loss of hundreds of Koalas, Sue and Jennie knew the toy needed to be a Koala. There is a beautiful link between a sleepy Koala and a new born baby. Sue is a Midwife and Mothercraft nurse with over thirty five years of experience. Jennie founded her own fashion label The Shirt Muse and has a post graduate certificate in Collective Entrepreneurship. Together they bring a unique skill set of both experience and expertise to Calma Koala™. Calma Koala™ is a calming sensory toy for newborns to toddlers. Designed and made in Australia using medical grade silicone rubber. Calma Koala™ not only provides comfort to babies and parents but it also provides a platform to raise money and awareness of the declining Koala population in Australia.
