We, the founders of Campaign Nepal for Research and Development (hereinafter: Campaign Nepal), were once members of various child and youth clubs. Our time in these clubs ignited a passion for community development and social justice within us. We became acutely aware of the pressing issues facing our communities, particularly in the realms of child rights, women's rights, human rights, health, education, WASH, disaster and environment.
In 2008, Nepal underwent a significant political transformation, transitioning from a monarchy to a federal democratic republic. This period was marked by a lack of effective local governance, which fueled corruption and hindered community development efforts. Recognizing the need for proactive, community-driven solutions, we decided to take action.
Drawing on our shared experiences and values, we officially founded the organization in 2008 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council in 2009.
