Campus do Mar

Campus do Mar is led by the University of Vigo. In it, the universities of Santiago and A Coruña, the CSIC and the IEO participate as promoters. It also has the support of 4 universities in the north of Portugal, together with the technological centers and platforms of the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion. In 2010 it was recognized as a Campus of International Excellence, which was a definitive boost to consolidate the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula as a European benchmark in research, teaching and knowledge transfer in the field of marine science and technology. Starting from the sea as a common element and taking advantage of the strength of 24 institutions, the experience of more than 3,000 researchers and the weight of the economic and industrial fabric of the area, an ecosystem of knowledge is being created that provides economic and social value as the engine of the territorial development at the service of society.
