La Cava is one of the finest boutique wineries in the Riparbella region of Tuscany. The first documented beginnings date back to the 19th century. Since the late 1980s, La Cava was more or less left to its own and the vineyards became almost completely abandoned. Since 2014, the winery has been given a new lease of life - the wines and olive oil are produced biodynamically and sustainably. The special terroir overlooking the sea and the special climate give the wines of La Cava their special touch.
The grape varieties, Sangiovese, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Vernaccia were selected specifically for the terroir. The more than 600 olive trees are mostly older than 80 years and are only gently worked by hand - as are the vines in the vineyards.
As a family, we place particular emphasis on sustainability and already work climate-neutral.
