C-Drone is a high payload cargo drone, designed to carry payload up to 180 kg. This project is based in UTHM and is funded by Ministry of Education Malaysia under Strategic Translational Research Grant.
The future of cargo transportation will be shifted to unmanned drone technology as we are moving towards Industrial Revolution 4.0. The global demand for cargo transportation by using drones is overwhelming. Some industrial player are already putting effort to build cargo transportation drone as big as commercial airplane. Aviation authority throughout the world has set forth air regulation framework to support drones operation in commercial air traffic system. Current drones for cargo deliveries are relatively low payload capability and low flying hours which they are based on small hobbyist drones. In this project, a new design of big cargo delivery drone is proposed with a higher payload of 180 kg and higher flight time of two hours.
