The Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) is an interdisciplinary research institute of Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) focused on chemistry, biology, and technology. Its investment phase was completed in 2015. The center aims to gather top Polish scientists in natural, technical, and exact sciences, as well as talented doctoral graduates and researchers from Poznań and Europe, to carry out scientific research, development projects, and strategic programs.
Researchers at CAT work on innovative materials, biotechnology, medicine (new cell therapies), biodegradables, and agriculture. The center is designed to employ about 200 people across 20,000 m² of space. CAT goal is to establish an internationally recognized multidisciplinary center for advanced technologies, working closely with businesses and other research institutions to develop research projects and provide specialized research services. This infrastructure also supports the education of new scientists, particularly PhD and master's students within the CAT AMU.
