CAT-Racing was founded in 2007 in collaboration with the Coburg University of Applied Sciences by 20 students. The acronym "CAT" stands for Coburger Automobile Team-Racing. A year later, the team participated for the first time in the Formula Student Competition with the "C 08 Panther." Since its inception, CAT-Racing has continuously evolved. Today, it comprises students from various disciplines who collaborate on the design and development of racing cars. Over the years, the team has successfully built an impressive 15 combustion engine vehicles. Now, CAT-Racing is making strides in future-oriented technology and innovation by developing its first electric car. The project offers its members more than just technical skills. It also promotes soft skills such as teamwork, project management, and communication. Every team member, whether from a technical or non-technical background, contributes to the success story. CAT-Racing embodies a comprehensive educational approach. Students not only acquire technical knowledge but also skills in areas like marketing, financial planning, and organizational management. This holistic approach equips students with the necessary tools for their future professional challenges.
