Rohini Nilekani Centre for Brain and Mind - NIMHANS

The Centre for Brain and Mind, NIMHANS builds upon the resources and repository generated by the Accelerator program for Discovery in Brain disorders using Stem cells (ADBS project), earlier funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The primary focus of the Centre for Brain and Mind, NIMHANS is a comprehensive investigation into a large cohort of severely mentally ill patients including those diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, dementia, or addiction within families. Over the next two decades, our research will focus on understanding the causes, correlates, and courses of these disorders, along with exploring potential interventions and treatments. We commit to openness and collaboration and aim to foster advancements in brain and mind research. The Centre for Brain and Mind, NIMHANS also emphasizes public engagement and community outreach to ensure that research outputs are effectively communicated to patients and their families.
