Capoeira Cultural Arts Foundation

The Capoeira Cultural Arts Foundation has been established for the purpose of promoting the growth of the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira, specifically to high-need communities through providing instruction, trainings, programs, events, performances, and scholarships, to enrich and improve the wellbeing of our youth physically, mentally, culturally and socially. CCAF will fundraise for educational and cultural programming, outreach and scholarships for Capoeira Karkara domestically as well as in Mestre Bethino’s hometown community in Bahia, Brazil. This Foundation is important because it allow us to expand and serve our communities both domestically and in Brazil. Perhaps more importantly, the Foundation will give us the platform to raise awareness around empowerment and social equity which is an inherent component of capoeira that is oftentimes overlooked in our day to day lives. What sets capoeira apart from other martial arts and less multifaceted activities is how dynamic it is, incorporating elements of self-defense, dance, acrobatics, music, culture & fitness to the whole family. At Capoeira Karkara we are known for providing a sense of family for our members, and striving to preserve the Brazilian Cultural Arts in Palm Beach County. People like to come to our academy to be around good people and share good energy, to feel lifted up, confident and motivated. We have cultivated a true family over time and have been an influential and supportive role to so many kids as they grow up. We created CCAF so that would be able to influence and support even more people in high needs communities.
