About Connecticut Center for Applied Separations Technologies (CCAST)
The Connecticut Center for Applied Separations Technologies (CCAST) at UConn is dedicated to supporting industry with their separation challenges by providing thoughtful contract R&D as well as application testing services. We help identify energy and cost-efficient solutions for an organization's separations needs through thoughtful consideration of innovative materials, differentiating techniques & robust process design. Led by Dr Jeffrey McCutcheon, we have a dedicated team ready listen and help. Our new facilities at Storrs CT are home to a large variety of separation equipment and we have access to a wide range of analytical resources. Due to COVID-19, we now have TSI testing equipment to validate the separation efficiency of the any material and standardized PPE to NIOSH standards. Through donations and student volunteers, we are also synthesizing and distributing hand sanitizer to vulnerable communities in CT. To date, we have distributed 1600 bottles to assisted living communities, first responders, food banks etc. If you would like to help, please go to https://app.mobilecause.com/vf/uconnENG to donate.
