Indian Institute Of Science Education And Research (IISER), Kolkata was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The central theme of the IISER Kolkata is to integrate education with research so that undergraduate teaching as well as doctoral and postdoctoral research work could be carried out in symbiosis. Nascent but multi-disciplinary as well as inter-disciplinary research structure gives the students an unparalleled experience to gel with scientists and industrialists and a possibility to contribute at the highest level of science across various disciplines.
