Scientific and Technological Centers of the University of Barcelona (CCiTUB)

The Scientific and Technological Centers of the University of Barcelona (CCiTUB) are one of the largest mid-size infrastructure facilities in Spain, with highly-qualified staff specialists, and the broadest range of characterization technologies. Our main goal to is to support research and innovation in the areas of chemistry, materials sciences and biosciences with several types of microscopy and advanced characterization techniques, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, chemical spectroscopy, high-performance biotechnology, radiological protection, etc. We also aim to enforce the university-industry relationship and promote innovation and technological transfer by participating in agreements and R+D+i projects with industry. Finally, we offer training courses and workshops regularly and are involved as partners in different European and International Infrastructure Networks, managing also two nodes in ICTS infrastructures. The CCiTUB owns more than 12,000 m2 distributed in 4 of the University of Barcelona campuses and we have 160 workers, among technicians and management staff, providing annual service to more than 350 institutions and more than 1400 users.
