Center of Excellence for Aeronautics and Astronautics

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to become a regional leader in critical areas of the aeronautics sector which is characterized by accelerating technological advancement and increasing competition. Very light aircraft, UAVs and MAVs are critical components of this sector as they are used in many applications ranging from security surveillance to monitoring the atmosphere, weather, as well as the natural resources. The Center of Excellence for Aeronautics and Astronautics (CEAA) at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Stanford University aims to collaboratively provide global-impact research results and advanced technology developments. The Collaborative Center of Excellence for Aeronautics and Astronautics was established as a world-class research effort to enable advancements in Space and Aviation technology applications transforming the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from a resource-based economy to a knowledge-driven society. The CEAA is a multidisciplinary collaborative research center where expert scientists investigate design challenges and technology advancements. The CEAA focuses on both innovative research and technology development for cutting-edge aircraft designs and spacecraft technology applications, as well as improving educational infrastructure in aerospace physics.
