The Information and Statistics Generation Center - CEGIE was established over ten years ago with the aim of carrying out activities related to the statistical and methodological design of studies and surveys for the continuous generation of primary and secondary, quantitative and qualitative information used in economic and social research.
Currently, it engages in activities such as the identification, search, and collection of primary and secondary information, sampling design for socio-economic surveys, design of instruments for the collection of quantitative and qualitative information, statistical and methodological design for impact assessment studies, consolidation activities, consistency analysis, and quality assessment of the collected information.
CEGIE's activities are primarily developed within socio-economic study lines in the areas of economics, health, education, employment, housing, basic services, and well-being (poverty-inequality). The UPB CEGIE has been contracted by significant companies and institutions for the execution of consulting projects, training programs, and information collection projects at the national level (capital cities of departments, intermediate and small cities, and rural areas) and internationally.
