The leading cause of sickness absence in the UK is mental health difficulties and emotional distress. Since the pandemic company, health and social care staff retention, morale, absenteeism issues have been exacerbated. However, research shows that when organisations support staff wellbeing there are positive outcomes for individuals, teams and outcomes; improvements in staff morale, commitment and innovation. I can support in the development of a personalised wellbeing strategy for organisations and embedding trauma informed care and psychologically informed practice.
This can include training, workshops, reflective practice groups, coaching for teams and individuals, clinical/professional supervision. This can include one off sessions and/or an ongoing programme.
As a consultant clinical psychologist I offer evidence based interventions and draw on a number of models including cognitive and behavioural approaches, systemic and narrative therapy, compassion focused interventions. These can be applied to enhance leadership across teams as well as for individuals.
Separately I offer one to one therapy for individuals with a range of common mental health difficulties. I have experience in developing and improving services. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have been effected by depression, anxiety, stress, worry, OCD, relational issues, eating disorders, substance/alcohol misuse, addiction, psychosis, trauma/ptsd, career development issues. I also have supported individuals through mentoring and coaching regarding professional issues. I have service on national committees to improve health and social care services for individuals who are homeless which has contributed to positive developments in the field and also remain in the NHS part time supporting NHS staff and services.
