Lewis Lu commenced his role as Chery CEO in March 2024, and his strategic focus is based on building Chery’s credentials around technology and innovation. Since assuming the role of CEO Lu has embraced a business strategy based the Chery brand’s technology, design, and value-based product, achieving unprecedented sales volume which has made Chery Australia’s fastest growing car company in 2024. With a degree in Engineering, Lu entered the auto industry in 2014. Stints at Lincoln China and BAIC International in South Africa honed his expertise, preparing him to take on the challenges of leading Chery in a rapidly evolving industry.

Under Lu’s leadership, Chery has embraced a strategy centred on technology driven development, with the Chery range of vehicles showcasing the latest innovation in design, safety and connectivity.
