Chief Energy is a family-owned and operated oil and gas company based in Dallas, Texas. Chief Energy founder, Trevor D. Rees-Jones, began investing in mineral and royalty rights alongside his Chief Oil & Gas operated Barnett Shale exploration and production activities in the early 2000’s. Since then, he has built several companies that own and manage nearly a million net mineral acres in 31 states throughout the nation. Companies under Chief Energy's management include: PEC Minerals, PEC Exploration, Chief Royalty Partners, TDR-J Investments, R-J Minerals, TD Minerals, and Chief Capital (O&G) II. Since 2015, TD Minerals is has aggregated more than 40,000 net royalty acres in the Permian Basin, Powder River Basin, and Haynesville Play and continues to acquire quality mineral and royalty assets. During the same timeframe, Chief Capital (O&G) II has acquired more than 9,800 net mineral acres of leasehold and currently participates in hundreds of horizontal wells as a non-operator. Chief Energy continues to be a competitive participant in the market for both minerals and non-operated leasehold.
