Centre of Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide (Chris's House) has been set up to offer a safe environment where people in crisis may have a respite from their current situation, by finding refuge living in Chris's House for up to five days, and involvement in an individually tailored attendance programme.
This support and respite process will be triggered through either:
•Self-referral, using social media or personal drop in at Chris's House.
•Contact made through outreach by us following contact by concerned others (partnership agencies and / or family / friends of the person in crisis).
•Working in partnership with other established agencies.
Our guests will be assigned to a volunteer who will develop a strong rapport with the guest to help them through the crisis and support them to counter depression, negative and despairing thoughts and exchange reasons for dying with reasons for living.
Our motto is "Let's Talk" but first we aim to truly listen to inform our next steps on our journey with our guests.
