Chute Technology Owner/Director Dennis Pomfret has more than 30 years’ experience in materials handling and mechanical engineering, with more than 20 years dedicated to transfer chutes and optimising performance and flow of entire materials handling processes.
He is a national authority on the cost-efficient design and implementation of advanced, proven technologies and systems that remove bottlenecks, save money, improve reliability and enhance operational sustainability and Licence to Operate.
Dennis has worked with major miners, port and rail operators nationally and internationally, including more than 20 years running his own engineering company, Dennis Pomfret Engineering. The original company – which is being expanded to meet growing demand – was a leading supplier of technology service including DEM (Discrete Element Method) modelling, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), design, specification and commissioning of material handling equipment and project management. These are all skills that have expanded with the founding of Chute Technology.
One of Chute Technology’s core competencies is designing, engineering and maintaining materials handling equipment to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.

Better chute designs can significantly improve belt life, which reduces the downtime needed to replace the belt at regular intervals. In some cases, Chute Technology’s designs have improved belt life from 4 months to 4 years – an improvement of more than 12x the equipment life!
Our chute designs are modular in nature, which means that each part can be replaced individually, rather than having to replace the entire chute when one part experiences excessive wear.
