About Classical Revolution
Classical Revolution is an organization / collective whose main emphasis is to present live classical music events at non-traditional venues, including but limited to bars, cafes, and art galleries. The organization started in November of 2006 at Revolution Cafe in San Francisco's Mission District. Since that time, over 900 events have been presented in the Bay Area alone, most of which were free and open to the public. The concept of Classical Revolution has spread to other cities, with more than 30 chapters actively in place across the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and Indonesia. The more than 600 different musicians who have performed at Classical Revolution in the Bay Area alone come from a variety of backgrounds. They include local freelancers, current music school students and recent graduates, dedicated amateurs, professional orchestral musicians, professional chamber musicians, international concert soloists, and non-classical musicians we collaborate with.. Classical Revolution is fiscally sponsored by 501(c)3 non-profit San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music
