CLAVE aims to understand the origin of values and their impact on children’s worldviews, especially on social inclusion and social justice matters.
The project seeks to respond to this need by proposing to map the basic human values of children and young adolescents (6-14 years), and their association with other central factors, for a better understanding of the current and future dynamics of inclusion and exclusion in the European area. The project will also allow us to analyze the role of socialization processes in a family context in forming and developing human values. The project will be carried out in Portugal and other European countries and will involve the administration of a short questionnaire to children living in households selected through the ESS9 sample (2018/19) (with the informed consent of the parents or guardians of each child). The team will bring together specialists from ICS-ULisboa, ISCTE-IUL and institutions from partner countries in the field of sociology and social development psychology researching children and young people.
