CLEAN UP NEPAL

CLEAN UP NEPAL (स्वच्छ सफा नेपाल) is a for-purpose, non-governmental organization registered in Nepal in 2014 that envisions communities having access to a solid waste management and water, sanitation and hygiene system with the associated knowledge and resources that will enable them to live a healthy, disease-free life. It provides an enabling environment by connecting, educating and empowering local communities and relevant stakeholders through a people-centered, solution-based approach. CLEAN UP NEPAL has main five thematic areas: a) Waste management, b) Climate action and justice, c) Education (environmental and sustainable solid waste management) d) Circular economy, and e) Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). Similarly, four cross-cutting areas a) Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change, b) Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), c) Child Protection, and d) Sustainable Development. CLEAN UP NEPAL employs a comprehensive approach to environmental conservation and waste management. Through community engagement, awareness campaigns, and educational initiatives, the organization rallies volunteers to participate in clean-up drives, waste segregation, and recycling efforts. By partnering with local communities, schools, and government bodies, CLEAN UP NEPAL advocates for policy changes and sustainable waste practices. The organization's emphasis on data collection, research, and youth involvement enhances its impact, fostering a sense of responsibility for a cleaner, greener Nepal.
