About Coastal Livelihood and Environmental Action Network (CLEAN)

Coastal Livelihood and Environmental Action Network (CLEAN) is a regional network-based organization working in the Coastal Zone of Bangladesh. CLEAN was established in 2010 with active participation of like-minded persons and environmental groups. CLEAN promotes small producers rights, Local Ecology Based Adaptation (LEBA) and sustainable biodiversity management to ensure secured livelihoods and environmental protection. To this end, CLEAN works to protect natural resources like forests, common water bodies, land resources and mineral resources from grabbing. CLEAN works with Climate Forced Migrants to ensure their rights to free movement internally and internationally. From this view, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Good Governance and enhancing climate resilience is one of the key concerns of CLEAN. Clean implements Service Delivery Projects, Campaign & Advocacy and Action Research to Ensure Sustainable Development of the Vulnerable Communities. Mission & Vision Our mission is to establish a environment friendly, poverty free, secular society with equity and justice. Our mission is to ensure environment friendly sustainable development and smallholders and marginal producers’ rights through delivering essential supports to the deprived communities, social action research, campaign and advocacy. Target Population Our direct targeted participants are forest peoples, indigenous communities, small and marginal producers, socially excluded groups, fisher folk, school students and other natural resource dependent communities. We also consider civil society representatives, sociocultural and political activists, Local Government Institutions (LGI), media, Government agencies, International Financial Institutions (IFIs) including Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), policymakers, scientists and academia as our secondary stakeholder or indirect participant.
