Climate-4-CAST

Climate-4-CAST addresses challenges hindering Baltic Sea Region cities on their path to climate neutrality. Recognising barriers such as uncertainties, lack of tools, data, knowledge, political backing, and budget limitations, the project provides local public authorities with a climate budgeting tool to visualise and analyse various action scenarios for meeting climate goals. The tool aids in better planning public budgets with climate neutrality measures and monitoring the results of their implementation. The overarching goal of Climate-4-CAST is to advance climate action efforts and achieve climate neutrality across cities in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) and beyond. Anticipated outputs include the development of an open-source Decision-Support Tool (tool code package) and a comprehensive guide on the tool's integration into local climate and fiscal governance (operationalisation guidelines). Climate-4-CAST contributes to implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
