The Project
CLOSEOOP was established in 2023 as a division of DBT FIBRE S.P.A. Group, an Italian company with a long-standing tradition in the textile industry. It harnesses the Group’s expertise in transforming and reusing textiles.
The Idea
CLOSEOOP aims to reclaim the value of textile fibers found in pre- and post-consumer residues, a vast potential resource to be used as raw material for new products. This is encapsulated in our motto: “closing the loop”.
The Defibration Process
CLOSEOOP represents a cutting-edge process meeting the demands for more sustainable textiles. It offers a second life to textile waste through "defibration," an innovative processing technology that opens fibers without tearing them, respecting their structure and preserving their technical properties to the fullest. This enables the enhancement of various textile wastes, which would otherwise be destined for disposal or downcycled, turning them into regenerated fibers suitable for subsequent textile processes.
