Founded in 1838, Monnet has been one of the many great historical houses of Cognac throughout time. Its leaders were innovators, and real visionaries. Jean-Gabriel Monnet, founder of the very first wine cooperative in France, developed his company and built revolutionary cellars in Cognac, and his son Jean Monnet, who was the founding father of the European Union and recipient of the very first Presidential Medal of Freedom for his efforts stopping the war.
