Coherence Foundation was established in 2015 by two clinical psychologists, Kirsten Barnardt and Karen Fleming who are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the psychological interventions carried out. They liaise with various key role players at Cape Town based NGO’s, schools and hospitals to identify participants who can benefit from the interventions. Our Mission: To collaborate with NGO’s, schools and hospitals in the Western Cape by providing therapeutic groups and psycho-education workshops for children, their parents/caregivers and the professionals working with them so that children can thrive emotionally and socially. Our Goals: To provide group interventions with a focus on: -Helping parents/caregivers to create the necessary foundation for loving and secure relationships with their children. -Assisting children to overcome challenges as well as with the processing of emotions/experiences. -To provide psycho-education workshops for parents/caregivers and other professionals working with children so that they are better equipped to nurture a child’s development emotionally and socially.
