Collective UNBound

ROOT. READY. RISE. Collective UNBound (UNB) is a social benefit organization that designs boundless opportunities for communities to flourish, free from the legacies of exclusion and colonial harm. We create spaces shaped by the communities that call them home — empowering historically excluded communities and designers to lead change. Our work honors cultural identities, repairs harm, and celebrates joy. We create just design, education, and organizing practices with historically disenfranchised people & places, ‘being deeply rooted and collectively unbound’. Our work is based in cultural humility, transformative justice, and traditional ecological knowledge with respect towards the lived experiences of our communities. Collective UNBound's team consists of designers, architects, and community organizers located throughout the United States. Collective UNBound facilitates educational programming, creates workshops, designs socially responsible projects, and distributes digital initiatives, all proudly rooted in principles of design justice.
