COMHPTES is an EU project focused on Flexible Compact Modular Heat Pump and PCM based Thermal Energy Storage System for heat and cold industrial applications. A novel CO2-based heat pump will be validated to a TRL 5 level and an integrated renewable heat system including concentrated solar thermal will be studied. This project focuses on thermal energy storage and direct-to-user heat delivery for some of the world’s highest heat-intensive industrial sectors such as food and beverage, paper, and chemical manufacturing.
This research was funded by CETPartnership, the Clean Energy Transition Partnership under the 2023 joint call for research proposals, co-funded by the European Commission (GA N°101069750) and with the funding organizations detailed on https://cetpartnership.eu/funding-agencies-and-call-modules. The project has received support from the Swedish Energy Agency, Scottish Enterprise, and the CDTI.
